About Carmen
A Life of Purpose
I have reached a stage in my life where I consciously choose not simply to exist, but to live a life of purpose by serving others with the gifts I have been given.
Listening, encouraging, offering guidance, and walking alongside people when needed — these are things that are close to my heart.
I have now been retired for several years, and I look back on a rich and varied professional life. I graduated in Social Work at higher professional education level and worked professionally as a social worker. I also completed various therapeutic training programs, including contextual and experiential therapy.
I carry that professional knowledge and experience with me, but equally valuable to me are the life lessons I have gained throughout my 69 years.
Because my own journey through life has not always been easy.
I Know What It Feels Like
I have been through many challenges myself. Because of that, I know how lonely it can feel when you believe that you are not being heard or seen.
It is precisely because I know that feeling that I want to be there for others.
I believe everyone needs someone who truly listens. Someone who does not immediately judge, but is willing to stand beside you. Sometimes what is needed is a word of encouragement. Sometimes it is an honest conversation, practical guidance, or simply someone willing to walk alongside you for part of the journey.
Helping people in this way — in the broadest sense — is something I do wholeheartedly.
Faith, Experience, and a New Beginning
My faith is an important foundation in my life and in what I share with others. My own journey has taught me that difficult chapters do not have to mean the end of your story.
Restoration is possible. Growth is possible. And sometimes change begins when someone helps you see again who you are and the possibilities that still lie ahead.
That is why I want to encourage and inspire people not only to face life’s challenges, but also to discover that after difficult seasons, there can be room for restoration, growth, and a new beginning.
Being There for People
Today, I use my life experience, professional background, faith, and personal gifts to encourage people — both individually and in groups.
As an author, speaker, and Life & Ministry Coach, I want to create a space where people feel heard and seen and are encouraged to move forward.
Not because I believe I have all the answers, but because I am willing to listen, to stand beside someone, and to share what I have learned through my own journey.
I do not want to make your choices for you or take over what is yours to do. Instead, I want to look together with you at what may have kept you from taking the step you already know you want to take. By listening, encouraging, and offering practical guidance, I want to help you move from intention to action.
My desire is not for you to become dependent on my support, but for you to grow in taking personal responsibility, making your own choices, and having the confidence to take your own steps.
I will walk alongside you for part of the journey — but the steps are yours to take.
Encouraging Hearts. Inspiring Lives.
To me, this is more than a slogan. It expresses what I want to do with my life.
